About Zane | |

Zane is a very special boy who will need to go to the right home. We believe that he may have been abused by a past owner and has now developed some untrust towards people.
With treats Zane warms up incredibly fast. But he does get territorial with toys, his crate and favorite areas to lay in the house. He spent some time with a trainer and made great improvements. Again, treats are the way to go with Zane. There can be no physical punishments or intimidation because Zane will shut down and progress of bonding will be lost. In the right home with lots of consistency Zane would make a great companion.
He is good with other big dogs. However he is not the best with small dogs as he will try to bully them. He did doggie daycare for a few weeks where he played with lots of big dogs and was great.
Zane has a lot of energy so he will need to go to an active home. He is almost tireless at times but daycare or longs runs and hikes would make him much more relaxed in the home environment.
Zane is probably best suited for a home with adults and no small children. He's a very big boy and sometimes forgets how big he is and likes to jump up on his people friends.
Husky or Malamute experience is required and Zane will need to take a training class upon adoption.
