Hola! This is Pepito!

Pepito is a roughly 1-year-old, 25 lb chihuahua mix that is as sweet as can be.

Pep has fun playing with our other pups and going for walks but his favorite activity is being snuggled and smooched. He would do well in a home with someone who is able to give him lots of attention and affection. He still has some energy spurts and likes to play every now and then but we would consider him a low to medium energy dog.

When Pepito came into our home, he was a little skittish at first but warmed up pretty quickly. He still gets a little startled from time to time but this will likely go away once he is in a safe home with a family he fully trusts. Although we think Pep would do just fine with children, he would probably do best in a home with calm and/or older children or only adults to help him adjust to his new environment and build confidence.

Pepito is okay to be out in the home on his own as long as all snacks (or anything that could be perceived as snacks) are put out of reach. He is about 95% potty trained since coming into our home. We are working on getting him into a routine and have seen so much progression since we first got him, we have no qualms about his continued success. We have attempted crate training him but he is not a fan of the crate.

He has expressed some interest in toys but loves to play chase with humans or other dogs once he trusts them. Because Pep likes his occasional game of tag, we would recommend a home with a yard. We’ve also noticed he throws a little barking fit the first few minutes after we leave the house therefore, he would probably not do best in an apartment.

Pep has not been cat tested but due to his size and demeanor, we think he would do okay with a kitty sibling.
