Meet PERCIVAL (we call him "PERCY"!)
He's a 1 yr old, 15 lbs, Terrier (Breeder Release). Someone said he's a Minneapolis Terrier Breed but does look somewhat like a Silky Terrier.
He is a "typical" VERY ACTIVE 1 yr old PUP!
MEDICAL NOTE: Percy is a Medical Vertigo Case. Whenever he is laying upside down while playing
with another dog or with a toy, it causes him to have Vertigo when he stands up that lasts about 30 seconds. This is caused by fluid that would usually be in his brain but has moved to a small pocket behind the brain stem due to an underdeveloped brain. This fluid pushes on the area causing Vertigo. The veterinarian gave him Prednisone and Omeprazole to help reduce the severity of the vertigo. It did work but those can't be taken forever so testing other methods.
THIS DOES NOT EVER STOP HIM FROM PLAYING! HE PLAYS HARD AND LOVES PLAYING WITH ANOTHER DOG, PLAYING FETCH WITH BALL AND DOING ZOOMIES IN THE YARD!!
Secure Fenced Yard is needed, he LOVES to do zoomies and chase birds & squirrels!
Another dog his size in home is REQUIRED for him to play and rough house! (see video)
Also he has some separation anxiety but seems to do better with another dog in home.
He "play bites" when he gets really excited while playing; NO kids or ONLY kids over 12 yr
He LOVES to get CHEST/BELLY RUBS!
Rides well in a car.
Still practicing on a leash which is still a bit scary for him.
He is 95% housebroken and sometimes male marks in house so he wears belly band when in the house for longer periods of time. He needs to go out during the day to learn "outside potty only".
He BARKS at noises, like a typical terrier. Foster mom is practicing "Quiet" with him while using Water Spray Bottle. It is working and has reduced a lot of his barking. He needs to continue training to reduce the barking.
When settled down, is such a SWEET BOY, SNUGGLER.
Loves to lay next to you in a chair/recliner.
Loves to sleep with you at night.
His forever family would have another energetic dog his size to play with and run Zoomies! A LOT of squeaky and crackly toys, no little kids, a fenced yard to run around in, a family who is home a lot to let him in and out to play and potty and give him love forever even with his vertigo issue!
