Dakota is guessed to be a beautiful Akita mix.  He's a big teddy bear at about 70 lbs.  He's guessed to be a little over a year old.  He loves other dogs and fit in immediately with the 18 lb and 55 lb dogs in his foster home.   He was running free in Wildwood for weeks and became loved by the neighbors there who wanted to ensure he found a perfect loving home for him.  Despite being initially wary and shy, he is warming up quickly to his foster mom and learning to live inside.  He has a few puppy tendacies such as dragging clothes, shoes, rugs etc outside through the doggie door but this seems to be subsiding as he is becoming more comfortable being inside.   He has not chewed anything at this point.  He needs continued leash training but animal control personnel and volunteers did a wonderful job to get him used to a leash.  He has had no accidents in his foster home and is adjusting very well to a crate.  He needs to be in a home with at least another dog to help give him confidence that humans are good.  He would do best in a home where the children are at least 9-10 years old.  He is not aggressive whatsoever with little children, just a little fearful and unsure.  Loud noises and quick movements spook him and make it hard for him to be comfortable.   This sweet boy deserves to be in a home he knows is his.

Dakota ’s adoption fee is $100.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
